An Early Education in Business

I was lucky to get an early start on my business career.  That was the advantage of growing up in a small family business in Detroit, MI.  From the time I was 8 years-old until I left for college at 18, I spent most weekends and summers working with my dad.  It wasn’t always glamorous (actually I don’t remember many glamorous parts), but I learned at a young age how to wow customers, manage a team, and the challenges of leading all aspects of an organization.  I also saw first-hand the impact that small businesses have on their employees and community.

Building My Experience

The entrepreneurial seed had been firmly planted.  I completed my formal business education at the University of Pennsylvania – Wharton School of Business, majoring in finance and marketing.  Afterwards, I spent most of the next dozen years developing my business knowledge and expertise within large, successful companies. In that time I was exposed to a wide variety of industries including: financial services, consumer products, retail, and real estate.  In addition, I developed and refined several key skills:

  • Sales: Proven track record of developing relationships with leaders of Fortune 500 companies and deeping those relationship with double-digit annual revenue growth
  • Team Building: Successfully recruited, trained, and led multiple teams for more than eight years
  • Finance: Over ten years of experience reviewing financial statements, leading complex financing transactions, evaluating risk management, and identifying opportunities to optimize working capital
  • Operational Efficiency: Developed and launched systems and processes that reduced operational risk, increased automation and improved the experience for clients and employees

Launching New Horizon

Founding New Horizon Capital Partners is a return to my entrepreneurial and small business roots.  I have partnered with a dedicated group of seasoned entrepreneurs and experienced investors to fund the acquisition of a small to mid-sized business in the U.S.  As the Managing Partner of New Horizon, I will be able to leverage my skills, experience, and dedication to identify, acquire, and build on the legacy of a great American business.

Personal Life

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I was blessed to marry my college sweetheart and have a four-year old son with boundless energy.  I am an avid sports fan with a particular interest in boxing (watched the Rocky movies a few too many times growing up). I also am a huge movie buff who enjoys classic Oscar-winning films, the latest superhero flick, and just about everything in-between.

I look forward to meeting you, learning more about your great business, and determining whether I may be able to help further extend your company’s success.
